Propaganjah was formed in Central Florida, in early 2016, by lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Rob "Rob Marley" Burr Jr. and percussionist/songwriter/composer Garrett "Ginjah" Riggio. They both share influences of reggae greats, such as Tribal Seeds, Soja, Sublime, Dirty Heads, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and a ton of other bands in the realm. Rob's Caribbean influences come from his father's St. Croix/Virgin Island's roots. Ginjah brings some SoCal inspiration and positive vibes from his tenure in San Diego, as well as his work with his charity the Red Road Foundation. The duo linked up with Marlin Sessler (bass), adding his flavorful bass licks, in March of 2016, to form the sound that has been driving the band ever since. Aaron Bergman(Alto Sax) and Jose Piniero(Tenor Sax) hold down the horn section with hooks that resonate through your soul and keep you humming the melody through every song! Lawayne Gabriel(Keyboard) brings his unique influence and style that stimulates your mind with a wide variety of tones that dive right into the forefront of your mind.
Propaganjah has played with numerous regional reggae and ska acts already; such as, The Wailers, Inner Circle, Less Than Jake, Third World, Ballyhoo!, Resinated, Of Good Nature, Yamadeo, and the Duppies. There is no venue too big or too small for this band. They will bring the party to any atmosphere and keep you on your feet!! Do your ears and feet a favor and stimulate them with the soul and sound of true reggae music, provided by yours truly, Propaganjah.
El Dub is what you call a "looper" or "One man Band". He plays all instruments live including, beat boxing, guitar, bass, keys and harmonizing vocals and loops them into layers that end up sounding like a full band with just one guy. El Dub uses the RC50 Loop Station as well as a Godin Synth Guitar, and Roland GR55 guitar synth pedal for sounds like horn sections, flutes, organ, piano, and wah clavi, which help him create the staple sounds of a true funk band. You may recognize this type of performance from other "looping artist" like Zach Deputy, and Keller Williams.
