Mike Llerena & The Nerve
Mike Llerena & The Nerve
Mike Llerena & The Nerve is a punk rock 'n' roll band based in Gainesville, FL. - a musical bedrock where acts like Tom Petty and Sister Hazel first emerged.

Shaped by the local punk scene which spawned such acts as Against Me!, Hot Water Music and Less Than Jake; frontman Mike Llerena began contextualizing his influences, mixing classic rock with punk and folk with acts like The Gaslight Anthem and Frank Turner serving as constant reference points in his songwriting. “As a singer-songwriter, I would say my music draws as much from Green Day as it does from Bruce Springsteen,” Llerena asserts.

His no-nonsense approach to music began as a teen when he started singing and playing guitar along to his favorite songs. This gave him the confidence to start writing lyrics and eventually picking up other instruments. He started playing live around Gainesville in 2011 and released his debut EP Gold Gone Black in 2014. His second EP Letter of Resignation, released in 2015, landed him an opening for Anthony Raneri (Bayside) and a slot at The Fest (Gainesville’s annual punk rock festival). Llerena released his third solo EP Absence & The Heart in 2017.

In June 2017, Llerena assembled a full band ("Mike Llerena & The Nerve") consisting of Scott Marshall on drums and Brian Jones on bass/backing vocals. The trio played Gainesville's annual Changeville music festival the following spring. The band released their debut LP "Old Haunts & New Horizons" on June 15, 2018 and are currently on a fall tour of Florida and Georgia in support of the release.

The band's music has been featured on 100.5 The Buzz (Gainesville’s New Alternative radio station) and WGOT LP 100.1 FM (Gainesville radio station), as well as in publications like New Noise Magazine, Mind Equals Blown, Imperfect Fifth, Rock Your Lyrics, Blurred Culture, Infectious Magazine and The Defense.

Jacob Hudson
Jacob Hudson
Jacob Hudson's Personal, aggressive lyricism melodized amidst introspective moments and emotional responses marks singer-songwriter-musician Jacob Hudson’s second studio EP, It All Repeats. Thoughtful and honest, the album’s easeful vocals offer a narrative centered on the futility of human activity. As it relates to romantic relationships, this theme is found most notably in the title track and “Scenery Is All That Changes.” Rhythmic and ambient, It All Repeats’ well-balanced delicate and grand composition allows listeners the space to simply enjoy and/or deeply contemplate.
